As a parent or guardian of a Charter student, you are automatically a member of the CPO and we are thrilled to have you involved. Did you know that parents have a significant effect on their children’s education? It’s true. Good education isn’t just about teachers and schools – what parents do really counts! Research indicates that children who have families actively involved in their school will get higher grades, are more likely to graduate and go on to college, and will earn more money once they begin their career.

The Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy Parent Organization exists to support the school, to promote academic excellence and to create a sense of community through fundraising, volunteer service, and event coordination.

CPO Role at Charter
Your Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy CPO Does the Following:
- Support the educational programs and extracurricular activities of the school
- Encourage parents’ involvement in their individual children’s lives, education, class and school
- Coordinate programs and projects that will support or enrich the curriculum
- Encourage/fund the increased exposure of students to technology
- Organize fundraising efforts to support some additional programs, equipment and services not covered in the school budget
- Support the educational goals of the school and assist with attaining those goals through parent and community volunteerism
- Recruit volunteers and coordinate volunteer efforts to staff CPO functions and assist with school programs
